Biodata
Dr. Abir Abdallah
I have been an instructor in the Lebanese University for ten years. I hold a PhD in Education from Universitat Rovira i Virgili in the Catalan region of Spain. The topic of my dissertation was “The Effects of the Interactive Whiteboard and PowerPoint Presentation on the Writings and Attitudes of EFL Lebanese Learners”. I obtained my MA and BA degrees in English Language and Literature from the Lebanese University, and I have teaching diplomas in teaching intermediate and secondary classes. I have an experience of around seventeen years as a teacher of English and as a coordinator. I have been highly concerned with integrating technology in instructional and learning procedures. Indeed, I’m always keen to involve students in online global projects that boost their 21st century skills by facilitating communication with students of diverse cultural backgrounds, encouraging them to collaborate with each other, triggering their critical thinking, and kindling their creativity. As a university instructor, I devise course materials using a variety of technological tools such as the IWB, wikis, blogs, WhatsApp, YouTube, and others that engage students in interactive activities. Moreover, I have carried out research studies pertaining to integrating technology in Education. As to my leisure activities, I enjoy walking in the open air, reading short stories, and solving logic-based puzzles.

Instructor: I, Loubna Nehmeh - a university instructor  and teacher trainer- recognize the significance of  educational technology as it facilitates teaching as well as learning in the sense that it allows the acquisition of  new skills, promotes a positive classroom environment, and fosters personal growth and  professional development. In more specific terms, my growing interest in eLearning or digital learning is due to the fact that it allows the content to be self-paced and to be used anytime, anywhere and on any device.
Nine years of experience as a teacher trainer on behalf of The Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD) and The British Council gave me the opportunity to attend as well as to deliver several workshops about the implementation of technology in the classroom. Such workshops paved the way for me to enhance my computer skills and to master the use of educational programs such as hot potatoes, activ inspire photostory, powerpoint, bloggers, and so forth.
Receiving an award for excellence as an ICT trainer from the British Council encouraged me to read more about the use of social networking sites as educational tools and consequently to choose it as a topic for my PHD dissertation. This in turn offered me the chance to be selected to give the educational technology course for teaching diploma students at BAU for the past three years.  This course focuses on utilizing technology as well as social media for educational purposes. In this respect, it requires students to create animations, videos, interactive scenarios and simulations, learning games, visual or interactive storytelling, self-assessment tests, and much more. This is achieved mainly through the use of Facebook groups, bloggers, wikis, and other online communities in order to share the produced work.
